Warrior’s Journal: Day 11

It’s been a few days since my last entry. I was sore for the last few days because of the goblin ambush. People are coming going from the barracks, but I’m not really sure what’s going on. If it’s important, someone will tell me.

I’ve been practicing my writing and calligraphy though. It helps me clear my mind and since I started, haven’t been as obsessed about the incident that made my leave home. It’s getting easier now that I’m practicing. I think I’ve memorized how to write most of the letters, so these entries should take less time to write. I still need to work on my calligraphy. My left hand smudges the ink a lot so I’ll ask shopkeeper if there’s any technique that left-handed calligraphers use.

Jaren had Lenora, Pierre, and me come see him. He promoted us to to Men-at-Arms since we performed so well on our first watch. I’m one step closer to being the greatest boxer in the world.

Also Lenora and Pierre signed me up for a pie eating contest. I’ve never done something like this before, but I’ll try my best. They seem really excited about it. I agreed to tell them more about me if I win the contest.

Warrior’s Journal: Day 12

I can’t believe lost the pie eating contest! I ate the first two custard pies no problem, but I just couldn’t force myself to eat the third. It was too much sweets. The winner was a some guy with short blond hair and a messed up nose. He and his friend must be from out of town since I’ve never seen them before and Pierre and Lenora don’t know who they are either. I talked briefly to the winner’s fiend and he seemed off. The two of them have scarfs with a similar sigil to mine, but it is red instead of green.

After the pie eating contest, I went to the bar with Lenora and Pierre (not the one I met them at) they want to find out about the guy who one and his friend. We ran into the Milk Boys there. Apparently Lenora dated Sour. Pierre was flirty with Whole, but he might be like that with people. The Milk Boys didn’t know anything about guys we’re looking into.

We ended up the nicer bar and found out Demetrius Petridish is in town. He’s a popular bard who played at Sound Gnarden. Pierre was really taken by this guy. Lenora and I watched Pierre talk to Demetrius and show him the fireworks machine. I think Demetrius like that halfling rizz.

The gnome has a friend Sonoma, a sailor, that Lenora met recently. She told us that the guys we’ve been asking about are bounty hunters.

I really hope the bounty hunters are not looking for me.

The snowball fight is tomorrow. I told Pierre and Lenora if we do well, I’ll tell them more about me (since I lost the pie eating contest).

Warrior’s Journal: Day 13

Lenora learned more about the bounty hunters. They’re not here on contract and they don’t have any magical items with them. I’m not sure if I believe it. Back home everyone would say that a bounty hunter is only loyal to himself and the only thing he honors is gold.

Pierre built this crazy fort for the snowball fight. I help him with it and I also helped Lenora prep the snowballs. I’m so mad that I missed so many throws. I was counting and Pierre got more hits than I did, but at least we won!

My identity reveal to Pierre and Lenora went well. They didn’t seem bothered by it but I don’t think it’s good idea to drop the scarf just yet, especially with the bounty hunters around. I think we’re starting to get closer, but I’m worried about what they’ll think about my past. That’ll be future Tiberius’ problem.

We convinced Sonoma to help us track down the goblins so we’ll have some additional backup for our first bounty.
